The Duchenne Data Foundation welcomes Dr. BS Ajai Kumar as Board Member
Dr. Ajai Kumar is a doctorpreneur and the Executive Chairman of HealthCare Global Enterprises Ltd. He is a radiation and medical oncologist with over 40 years of experience. A true visionary, he has been actively involved in various initiatives to help patients win over cancer. He has a son with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and he has been involved in some parent projects in the past.
After completing his MBBS from St John’s Medical College, he performed his fellowship in radiation and medical oncology from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He later started a cancer center west of Chicago in 1979. In 2003, he moved with his family to India with the vision of expanding the services offered in Bangalore, where the need of the hour was accessibility, affordability, and high quality of cancer care.
Today, he continues to pursue his passion for increasing and strengthening the network of comprehensive cancer centers across the world, including Africa and Vietnam. Fulfilling his vision as a doctorpreneur, his focus has always been on good patient outcomes, patient safety, and providing better access to quality treatment that is affordable.
