PROJECT OVERVIEW

Highlighting psychosocial issues

Social Duchenne is an international project highlighting psychosocial issues in Duchenne & Becker muscular dystrophy. Duchenne muscular dystrophy can bring many psychosocial issues along the the different stages of the disease, as discussed in the Guide for Families.  Social Duchenne promotes education and information on psychosocial issues by using storytelling and creating specific educational materials.

Education

The educational activities are directed to the Duchenne Community and address specific needs, topics on how to deal with social and psychological issues for Duchenne in the daily life.

Awareness

Awareness activities are directed to the civil society by using storytelling. Stories place people in the condition of listening, stimulate closeness and help in communicating more. When we speak about living with Duchenne we also speak about inclusion, independence, human rights, equity, education, opportunity.

This project is funded by Sarepta Therapeutics, PTC Therapeutics, Santhera, Roche, and Italfarmaco. No input is provided regarding the contents of the project and the materials.
